Dental Assistant - 

Summary: The Orthodontic Dental Assistant supports orthodontic care delivery by preparing treatment rooms, patients, instruments, and materials; passing instruments and materials; performing procedures in compliance with the Dental Practice Act.

Pay Range: $16.54-$21.49/hour (Based on experience)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 

• Assists the doctor in procedures 
• Takes x-rays 
• Assist in the Prophylaxis cleaning of teeth 
• Instructs patients on oral hygiene 
• Charts cavities and teeth with the doctor 

• Sterilizes instruments 
• Sets up and prepares rooms for treatment 
• Regular, predictable attendance is required 
• Ability to get along and work effectively with others 

Education and/or Experience:  

• Certification from a dental college OR Three to six months related experience and/or training OR equivalent combination of education and experience, preferred 
• Bilingual in Spanish, preferred

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: 

• X-Ray certification
• BLS certification 
• 8-hour Infection Control certification required 
• 2hour Dental Practice Act certification

• Ortho Assistant Certification (OA) preferred but not required
