Director of Revenue Cycle Management

 

Summary:   The Director of Revenue Cycle Management reports to the Vice President of Revenue Cycle Management and is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all revenue cycle activities with a goal of maximizing reimbursement in a cost-effective manner that follows federal, state and payer-specific billing requirements.

 

This is a remote position and we are seeking candidates in the Pacific and Mountain time zones.

 

Pay Range: $100,000-$130,000/year (Based on experience)

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Directs and oversees revenue cycle management (RCM) functions by providing leadership, organizational, and strategic direction to drive efficient, accurate, and compliant RCM billing activities to maximize reimbursement. 
  • Heads the billing function; reviews billing activities; directs the authorization, billing, and collections staff; and assures the business maximizes its revenue potential. 
  • Plans, develops, and implements programs, projects, strategies, processes, and technology to continuously improve and manage the revenue cycle and increase profitability. 
  • Develops and ensures implementation of policies, guidelines, and implementation procedures; and ensures goals and objectives are properly defined and clearly established. 
  • Consults and collaborates with leadership across business units to advise and consult on key processes and resource needs to improve operations, productivity, and collection rates. 
  • Monitors effectiveness of activities, ensuring that outstanding authorizations, billings, postings, collections, and accounts receivables are within established time limits and that bad debt is within budget. 
  • Monitors all major internal and external issues impacting billing, ensures appropriate actions are taken to address identified issues, and provides guidance and expertise as necessary to ensure resolutions are effective and compliant. 
  • Develops department budgets and ensures that operating expenses are within budget and guidelines by providing regular analysis and forecasts.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Accounting, Finance or related field and 3-5 years of management-level experience in dental revenue cycle with expertise in billing and collections.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience in RCM for a multi-location dental or health care group, preferred 
  • Proven track record of creation and implementation of growth and profitability through RCM policies and procedures
  • Demonstrated success in implementing an RCM process, including centralizing activities in-house and among vendors
  • Demonstrated ability to create short and long-term strategic plans, KPI’s and forecasts while delivering strong financial results
  • Strong track record of creating and leading a collaborative, highly productive work environment, with a relentless focus on providing exceptional performance
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) at all levels within the organization
  • Possess a strong, intrinsic drive to be successful
  • Ability to balance speed and decisiveness with quality decisions
  • Must be detail-oriented, with an ability to tackle complex assignments
